xQc isn’t a fan of Twitch’s new VIP system

Popular Overwatch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel told viewers during stream that he think the new Twitch VIP system will be a disaster.

“I feel like this VIP thing is going to be one of the most cocklord, sellout shit ever done on Twitch by a longshot,” he told viewers during an Overwatch match.

The new VIP role, recently announced by Twitch, will let streamers select one viewer for the VIP role, which comes with a ton of exclusive benefits.

Viewers who a streamer assigns as a VIP will receive a special badge in chat, which can only be assigned by the streamer and cannot be purchased or earned.

xQc explained this would just lead to streamers playing favorites, “Hey Jomnycool73, you’re my favorite, I have a special place for you in my heart called VIP, here’s VIP baby.”

The VIP system is currently available on Twitch, but it doesn’t seem like xQc has bestowed the honor on anyone yet, and based on his reaction to the program, he may never do it.

Twitch VIP’s are a brand new feature to the site, which means many streamers haven’t given out VIP status, yet.
