How to complete Flashback Marcelo Diaz FIFA 20 SBC: solution & cost

Connor Bennett

Legendary Chilean midfielder Marcelo Diaz has been awarded an 89-rated flashback card in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team that can only be unlocked via a new squad building challenge (SBC). So, here’s how you can get your hands on it.

Flashback cards in FIFA Ultimate Team are a way for EA SPORTS to celebrate a player’s career or key moment that helped them put their name on the map.

Throughout FIFA 20, there have been cards for players like Theo Walcott, Wayne Rooney, Manuel Neuer, and Cesc Fabregas but following the release of the all-new CONMEBOL content in FUT, a new player has joined the mix – Racing Club midfielder Marcelo Diaz.

Diaz has claimed a Copa America title with Chile.

If you’re not familiar with the Chilean midfielder, he has commonly been referred to as the ‘South American Xavi’ – which is a pretty solid nickname after all. Diaz also cemented his name in Bundesliga folklore when he scored a last-minute free-kick to save Hamburg from relegation in 2015.

However, you won’t have to have a 90% passing accuracy through games or score a late free-kick to get your hands on this card. Instead, you just need to complete one SBC, but you will need a few Team of the Week cards spare. So, here’s what you need to do:

  • Squad Rating: Min 84
  • Team of the Week cards: Min 2

  • Players in the Squad: 11

Marcelo Diaz FIFA 20 SBC answers

As of writing, FUTBIN estimates that the squad building challenge will cost you in the region of 50-55k coins regardless of whether you play on PS4, Xbox One, or PC.

Though, there’s no need to worry if you’re not the best at completing these SBCs, as we have rounded up a few squads that will get you below that price estimate – but there is plenty of room to be flexible.

Flashback Marcelo Diaz FIFA 20 stats

As an 89-rated card with less than 80 pace, it might not jump off the screen as a card you need to own but Diaz’s stats make it a pretty hand one to own.

We’ve got some of his in-game stats below, where the passing and long shots immediately stand out as the most impressive numbers. The card also has a medium/high attacking and defensive work rate with three traits – outside foot shot, leadership, and injury prone.

However, if the card has taken your fancy, you won’t have long to complete the SBC as the challenge is set to leave the game on Tuesday, March 10.

So, make sure that you act fast and add the card to your club before the squad building challenge expires for good.
