Here is the cheapest squad for the Real Madrid puzzle. While Casemiro (87) and Benzema (87) cover the requirements, the key comes with the Paris Saint Germain defensive triangle — Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, and Navas — to get you over the line.

There’s a very French and Brazilian flavor to the cheapest La Liga solution, considering both nationalities play big roles in major teams. Oblak (91), Ter Stegen (90), and Griezmann (89) are key to boost the overall rating.

A few double-ups here — Griezmann, Ohana, and Ter Stegen especially — so feel free to grab two at once while you’re sniping these cards. Just don’t forget about Busquets (89), as he fulfills the Spanish requirement for the squad.

Why was Ramos given a Player’s Moment SBC?

While Ramos has become known as a warrior center-back in recent years, winning four UCL titles with Madrid while commanding the championship team’s defense from the heart of their backline, it wasn’t always that way.

In 2009/10, the now-33-year-old played every minute of Spain’s World Cup campaign in South Africa. The defender ticked off five clean sheets in the illustrious tournament, and started in the same role in the decider against the Netherlands.

There, Spain would lift the FIFA World Cup Trophy after a nail-biting 1–0 victory over their Dutch rivals. Andrés Iniesta scored the winning goal in the 116th minute of extra time, and Ramos kept another clean sheet in Johannesburg.

In club-land, Ramos would find disappointment as Real Madrid failed to edge their major rivals Barcelona. The Madridistas finished on 96 points, three behind Barca. The team lost both El Clásicos too, 1–0 and 2–0.

There was one shining moment from Ramos to crown the campaign, however, as he iced Madrid’s 3–0 victory over Mallorca with a stretching tap-in at the right post against the struggling Spanish squad for which he earned his Player Moments card.

Ramos’ in-game stats & value

Considering Ramos’ rating has hit near-Team of the Year levels, it’s no surprise the Spanish defender is absolutely stacked in just about every stat — his pace and defense especially put him above most in the RB position.

While his pace, 89 with 91 acceleration and 87 sprint speed, maybe isn’t reaching superstar levels for a wingback, everything else is fantastic, including his 87 agility, huge 97 reactions, and even his 88 strength.

You could even consider swapping Ramos’ upgraded card into the midfield once the game begins considering he’d be such a lethal choice as a defensive midfielder, but his passing stat of 80 may let him down just a little.

The Spanish star’s SBC is still quite a valuable one to take a look at, however, because of one key feature — EA has yet to put an expiry date on the high-level card, meaning you can build towards it for the rest of the year.

Don’t worry! Ramos’ high-end SBC is available until the end of FIFA 20.

For this reason alone, the 500k price tag probably isn’t too bad. Considering many Icon SBCs from years past would spit out 93-rated cards, and people would be work towards them, this seems like a similar puzzle and reward.

The bottom line is, this is one of the best defensive cards we’ve seen yet this FIFA, Icon level or otherwise, so if you’ve got the spare coins to start working towards the Real Madrid star, get to work — he’s certainly a top-tier pick.
