After a lot of anticipation, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has finally arrived and it gives fans the chance to reunite with Cloud and co. as they embark on a new adventure that differs from the original Final Fantasy 7 timeline.

As the direct sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth gives you a vast open world to explore. As well as an emphasis on exploration, there are a handful of new systems introduced in Rebirth, including Party Level which is a leveling mechanic separate from individual character progression.

Here’s everything you need to know about Party Level in the game, and how you can raise it.

Your Party Level represents the level of your entire party in Rebirth.

What is Party Level in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

Party Level is an EXP bar that represents the level of your entire party in the game.

This is entirely separate from individual character levels, however, increasing your Party Level does unlock new Folios in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which are where you can obtain new skills for different characters. Folios will unlock for all characters simultaneously whenever your Party Level is increased.

How to raise your Party Level

You won’t be able to raise your Party Level just by defeating enemies in combat, instead, you’ll have to complete various tasks and activities in the game. These are:

  • Progress the main story – As you complete milestones in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s campaign you’ll be rewarded with Party Level EXP but these milestones are often far apart and will take a lot of time to reach so make sure to take on other methods as well.
  • Complete side quests – You’ll gain a portion of Party EXP whenever you complete a side quest in the game.
  • Finish Chadley’s World Intel Objectives – Completing the World Intel Objectives that Chadley assigns to Cloud and the gang in Rebirth will reward you with Party EXP.
