The viral Burger King employee who became an internet sensation with his ‘goodie bag’ reward is making headlines again.

A January 2023, a Burger King employee named Kevin Ford went viral after he shared what he’d received from the popular chain after working there for over 27 years, without any days off.

However, instead of a pay rise or promotion in lieu of his hard work, Kevin received a goodie bag that contained a movie ticket, a bag of Reese’s Pieces, a Starbucks Tumbler, a lanyard, two pens, keychains, two packs of Lifesavers, and nothing more.

This caused a viral outrage, with people calling for justice.

As a result of Kevin’s internet fame, his daughter decided that it was a good idea to set up a GoFundMe page so that people could show their love.

The initial goal was only 200 dollars, but Kevin accumulated a staggering $452,375. This meant that he was able to buy a new home.

After the post was shared by ABC news, people were overjoyed to hear that Kevin was celebrating a new milestone: “How embarrassing for the business owner. They should be ashamed of themselves. I’m happy to see that this man was rewarded by others.”

“The fact that the employer gave such junk shows how much they appreciate their employees… glad he went viral! Well deserved,” another wrote.

There were a few naysayers however, who weren’t too happy about Kevin’s success, writing: “So we giving awards to grown men sandbagging themselves to make others feel sorry? He could’ve had multiple homes if he swung a hammer since 18.”

Kevin isn’t the first fast food worker who shot to viral fame. In December, former Walmart employee Gail Lewis’ vest sold for over 10K.
