Mom under fire after revealing her kids’ expensive “caviar addiction”
niky.mamamd/TikTokA mom named Niky has received criticism after revealing that her kids have an expensive “caviar addiction” in a TikTok video where she prepared their lunches,
In the modern social media era it is easier than ever to share moments and things you are proud of, but also share glimpses into people’s every day lives.
Pediatrician and mom-of-three, Niky, posted a video on TikTok where she was asking her two oldest children, 5 and 3, what they wanted for lunch, and the answer shocked viewers.
Niky started the video by asking her kids: “Hey guys, what do you want for lunch? Grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly, or bread with cream cheese and caviar?”
Her oldest daughter was quick to choose the latter, more lavish option. Niky asked whether they wanted “regular cream cheese” or “scallion cream cheese”.
“So you would like bread with scallion cream cheese and caviar and then you want bread with cream cheese and raspberries and some cheese […] and this is all for lunch?” Niky verified.
She then asked if her daughter wanted “string cheese” or “Gouda cheese” on the side and the kid further proved her expensive taste by choosing Gouda.
“OK – I’m going to have to get a second job,” Niky told the camera as she went to the kitchen to prepare the extravagant lunches.
When the lunch was done, Niky gave the plate to her daughter, joking: “Mommy’s going to need to make a lot more money to support this lifestyle.”
The kid then explained they preferred the “black caviar” to which Niky apologized: “Sorry, I only have the red caviar.”
She then shared with viewers exactly where this so-called “caviar addiction” came from in the first place.
“You had the black caviar at Baba’s [grandma’s] house. I know where you guys first had the red caviar,” the mum ended the TikTok before the overlay text read “send help”. She captioned the video: “Who’s going to fund my kids’ caviar addiction?”
Mom under fire for giving her child a “caviar addiction”
Niky’s comedic pleas for financial help were met with people arguing that she’d put herself in that situation for letting her children try caviar.
One person typed a cry-laughing emoji and wrote: “and, whooooo introduced them to the expensive foods? That’d be you mom. You did this.”
“I was like, “this is bonkers” until you said “baba”. Then it made complete sense to me,” a second person commented.
A lot of people watching the video also compared Niky’s daughter to their own “caviar addicted” children, with one person writing: “It’s all fun and games until you create a little person addicted to sushi which turns into a teenager with now a $100 order.”
“I am glad I had just one caviar kid, my other 3 were chicken nugget that fell on the floor kids,” a second parent commented.
