Woman warns old bottles of Kombucha could explode suddenly
TikTok: morganlaubailey / Wikimedia CommonsA woman shared an unusual experience she’d had with bottles of Kombucha, and TikTok weighed in.
A woman recently took to the platform sharing a video that was captioned “Not sure what kombucha has against me but… My wedding ring saved my finger though.”
“This is a friendly reminder that if you have a bottle of Kombucha in your refrigerator, and it’s been kind of a long time… don’t touch it,” she warns ominously.
“Get some oven mitts, maybe some… I don’t know, protective eye googles? It will blow up,” she states unabashedly, giving a thumbs up with her wrist bound up.
TikTok weigh in on exploding Kombucha
After the video was posted on the platform, people couldn’t wait to weigh in on the bizarre effects of the beverage.
“Store bought or homemade? I’ll never kombucha again,” another asked, clearly dejected.
“Also a friendly reminder to check your car for lost Kombucha in the winter… it will explode all over your car. Bonus points if there’s chia seeds,” another said humorously.
“Folks I’m fairly certain since Kombucha has live cultures, they are multiplying and producing gas, and the glass will explode from pressure,” one user attempted to explain.
Some were fearful of what might become of the long forgotten drinks; “I left a Kombucha bottle in the mini fridge at my parents house.. a year ago.. EXPLAIN,” they exclaimed.
“Not your parents!” the video’s poster said in mock worry.
Another beverage went viral on TikTok, after a dad conducted a bizarre science experiment involving Hawaiian Punch, and an egg.
