One young Fortnite player with cerebral palsy has received Christmas wishes from a number of professional players and the CEO of Epic Games, in one of the most heartwarming stories you’ll see.

The father of a young Fortnite player expressed his gratitude to professional players, after a number of them wished his son a happy Christmas. Finley, a huge Fortnite fan, is a primary school student from Manchester who suffers from cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy is the name given to a group of permanent movement disorders, that exhibit themselves in early childhood. It is caused by unusual development or damage to the parts of the brain that control bodily movement.

On Christmas Eve, Finley’s father, a Twitch streamer known as ‘KingoCraigo’, tweeted to ask the Fortnite community to wish Finley a merry Christmas.

“Anyone new to our journey,” Craigo said. “Finley has Cerebral Palsy and [has] just overcome major surgery 6 months ago. “We will beat CP and spread as much awareness as possible in the meantime.” Finley’s surgery was to help him walk, something many people with cerebral palsy struggle with.

The tweet promptly blew up, with over 2,000 retweets and 11,000 likes. Many fans were inspired by Finley’s story and wanted to draw attention to it. Thankfully, a number of Fortnite pros got in touch with Finley, offering their Christmas wishes.

British pro player Ben ‘benjyfishy’ Fish got in touch to wish Finley a merry Christmas.

On a similar note, Fortnite World Cup Duos champion Emil ‘Nyhrox’ Pedersen also got in touch. The Norwegian superstar wished Finley a merry Christmas, much to his father’s disbelief.

Away from professional players, the CEO of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, got in touch with the young Brit. The head honcho at Epic Games getting in touch was perhaps even more unexpected.

“Thank you all for your lovely messages and messages for Finley,” he said. “Merry Christmas from mine, to yours. Hope you all had a great day.”

Recently, the Fortnite community united around DrLupo’s charity stream, raising over $2 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The tweets serve as another example of how the gaming community can come together for good.
