Popular Twitch streamer Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo announced an upcoming charity stream to benefit St. Jude’s and children’s cancer research, which will go live over a 24-hour period.

Taking place on December 22 at 1 PM EST, DrLupo hopes to surpass his goal of one million dollars raised for St. Jude’s throughout 2018. Lupo has already amassed a sizeable amount for the charity, raising a reported total of over $730,000 dollars as of December 21.

Additionally, the top 100 donators during the stream’s duration will win an special code for a gold foil version of Lupo’s “Build Against Cancer” shirt. Lupo’s stream will likewise feature a raffle with an array of items as potential prizes, such as Fortnite’s in-game ‘VBucks’ currency, a custom gaming chair, and more.

Lupo announced the event during a livestream on December 17, claiming that St. Jude’s holds a “special place in his heart” due to their charitable work for children suffering from cancer.

“St. Jude’s holds a special place in my heart because they help people… they help kids fight things they should never have to face,” Lupo stated. “We’re talking about innocent children.”

Lupo also revealed that his fans had helped raise over $356,000 during his four hour block at Florida’s GuardianCon in summer of 2018, boosting his total amount raised to $659,000 ahead of his current numbers.

Lupo’s charity stream precedes Fortnite streamer Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevin’s New Years Eve event in New York’s Time Square, where he will engage in a 12 hour live broadcast of the massively popular battle royale title to ring in 2019.
