A Fortnite player named Janthony has won the Blockbuster Competition, earning him 25,000 V-Bucks.

His victory also means that his movie, which was created using the Replay Tool built into the game, will be played in-game at the Risky Reels drive-in theatre, and the name of his movie written on the marquee found there.

The plot of the film, titled Prepare For Collision, features characters from Season 4 and shows a race against time as the villain of the piece Omega escapes prison, and launches a missile towards Tilted Towers. With things looking bleak, Carbon stops the missile just before it crashes into Tilted Towers, and then challenges Omega to a dance competition, and with a little help, sends Omega back to prison.

The Blockbuster contest asked players to direct their own short films, using the Replay Tool inside the game to capture the footage.

Creators needed to tell a story based around the idea of superheroes, which was the theme for Season 4.

Epic Games announced the Blockbuster competition during Season 4, with the contest running from July 2 to July 11. The winner was scheduled to be announced on July 24, but due to a huge number of entries, this was pushed back.

While Janthony is taking home the grand prize, five finalists have also been selected and will each take home 10,000 V-Bucks for their efforts.
