Fortnite’s next collaboration will be with popular Sci-Fi franchise Star Wars, with the first look at the updated map and skins slowly trickling through.

Fortnite is a hotbed for pop culture collaborations over film, television, gaming, and other media. The game has hosted some iconic franchises over the last couple of years since blowing up into the mainstream.

However, their next collaboration is set to be one of their most epic yet, with the incredibly popular Sci-Fi franchise Star Wars set to join in on the fun in Fortnite.

DisneyStar Wars is coming to Fortnite.

Fortnite dataminer ‘HYPEX’ managed to find a model of the Imperial Stormtrooper in game as a skin. The skin is purchasable in the item shop, however players can also obtain it by purchasing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the Epic Games store.

There’s also a map update on the way, with a ship resembling the Imperial Star Destroyer to be implemented somewhere on the map.

There’s bound to be more content to come out of this as well, with fans requesting things such as a Lightsaber Pickaxe and skins based off other popular characters in the franchise like Yoda or Luke Skywalker.

Fortnite has cemented itself as not only a game, but a marketing tool for companies across the entertainment industries to promote their products.

Previous collaborations with Borderlands 3, Marvel, and John Wick have given Fortnite access to some of the most popular franchises in the world, as well as some subtle marketing.

The Star Wars collaboration comes just before the release of Star Wars 9, the next movie in the franchise set to capture fan’s hearts.

It also comes after the release of Disney+, a new streaming service which is currently hosting the Star Wars movies in the United States.

While the two might not be linked, it’s hard to believe that both of these releasing at the same time is a coincidence.

It’s unclear as to when the Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration will go live, but it’s likely to be in the coming days. Usually, once data miners start surfacing information on such events, Epic Games usually goes about releasing more information quickly afterward.

We will keep you updated with all the latest news on the Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration as it comes live.
