Fortnite Season 2 teaser confirms return of old item
Epic GamesEpic Games have released a brand new Fortnite Chapter 2 teaser for Season 2, ramping up the hype as we approach the release of the game’s next major patch by appearing to confirm the return of an old item.
Big changes are just around the corner for the popular battle royale title, with the v11.50 update expected to launch fully on February 20 and gold is seemingly going to be the color moving forward.
Fortnite teasers have been revealed all around the world, featuring a large gold handprint on posters, phone numbers being plastered on billboards and snippets of information being revealed to those who dare to call the number. Now, though, we have even more information about what’s to come.
It appears that an old item is going to return in Season 2: Dynamite. This was all but confirmed by the official Fortnite Twitter account on February 18, with the new image featuring a golden dynamite graphic.
Aside from the gold, there’s also some other pieces of code in the background that fans will no doubt be analyzing in great length until the next teasing image is revealed.
If gold is going to be the next material in Fortnite, is using explosives going to be the only way of destroying it? We’ll find out soon enough.
In a follow-up to this teaser, Epic Games shared what appears to a propane tank, hinting that explosives could possibly play a big role in the game going forward. Then, later in the day, they shared a giant missile.

Developing image
In previous seasons, Epic Games have stuck to a basic layout of releasing a few teasing images – usually with hidden or cryptic messages on there – to give players an idea of what to expect when the next major update hits.
However, on February 17 they decided to shake things up a little. The first teaser looked pretty bland, confirming the update’s release date (Feb 20) and had just a gold handprint.

As the transmission was “intercepted,” it was only a matter of time before even more pieces of the puzzle started to unravel.
Shards of gold showing what appears to be a logo (right), a boat we’ve never seen before (left) and potentially a hint towards weather changes as well in the middle. One shard shows a bolt of lightning behind two Fortnite players, dropping in with gliders.

The final teaser from February 17 revealed the face of the character, with what appears to be the Chaos Agent’s mask floating in front of his face. What this means at this stage is unknown, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it all clicked together to form a new skin for the next season.
Based on the map graphic to the right side of the character, too, there’s a chance that map changes are also coming soon too.
