Excitement surrounding Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 has gone up another level with Epic Games releasing even more teasers for the game’s next major patch, with a cryptic “Midas” message.

There had previously been two rounds of developing teasers revealed by the game’s developers, hinting at not only new locations that may soon appear in the popular game mode, but also the return of Dynamite and introduction of other explosives too.

Gold has been the common theme running through the Season 2 advertising so far, with a huge handprint taking center-stage at first, before a whole host of other graphics were released – teasing an agency hack, potentially a new material coming soon, and more.

So, let’s take a look at the game’s latest teaser, shall we?

Fortnite Battle Royale players are hoping for more map changes in Season 2, following the teasers.

Epic Games released brand new teaser material for Fortnite Season 2 on February 19, giving fans a greater idea of what to expect.

It was revealed using the official Fortnite Twitter account, as seen below, hinting at even more changes in the near future. Now, by connecting the letters from all teasers that have been released so far, it appears that “Midas” has been spelled out – which may be a reference to the gold King Midas, cited in Greek mythology.

The Fortnite devs released another teaser for Chapter 2 Season 2 mere hours after their initial post. The ball of yarn with what looks like a mouse-themed grenade is already making fans speculate how the presumed item will play out in the new season.

Epic could hinting at the leaked ‘Agent Meowscles‘ character with this teaser. There could also be a new point of interest with the new season with the devs including what looks to be like geographical markers on the left side of the image.

King Midas hints

For those who have never heard of King Midas before, legend has it that he was able to turn anything he touched into gold and has been linked continuously with Fortnite Season 2 since gold furniture started to appear in the game.

New gold material?

Following a number of Fortnite leaks that suggested gold might well be added to the game as a material, joining the current crop of mats in the battle royale game (wood, brick and metal), the precious metal has featured heavily in the advertising ever since – as seen below.

Aside from the obvious addition of gold, which has already been found in Season 1 actually, a number of other interesting clues have been found in the teasers, including a new boat, potentially a change of weather – with lightning bolts featuring in broken glass shards – and more.

If you would like to see all previous teasers, those for February 17 and February 18 can be seen in our Fortnite section, with even more expected to come in the near future.

The game’s next major update is set for a February 20 release date, so fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s in store for them.
