Fortnite vaults six items for Season 7

While Fortnite Battle Royale fans are in store for all new icy locations, weapon skins and a fighter jet in Season 7, they will lose six of the game’s previously active items.

The new Fortnite update 7.0 is now live and it’s looking very festive, with snow falling on different parts of the map and the introduction of new locations such as Frosty Flights, Happy Hamlet and Polar Peak.

Players will be able to slip and slide in icy areas of the map, but they won’t be trapped by Chillers any longer. This previous common item has been removed by Epic Games, for this season at least.

The patch also includes some added optimizations for when players are building structures, however one thing that you won’t be able to build anymore in the Port-a-Fort as it’s also been vaulted by Epic Games.

The other four items which have been vaulted by Season 7 are Shadow Stones, Clinger, Shockwave Grenade and the Double Barrel Shotgun.

A statement in the patch notes said: “Each new season gives us an opportunity to evaluate the current item rotation.

“Our goal is to have a reasonable number of items to learn, while avoiding duplicates or overlapping functionality.”

Don’t be too downbeat because of the loss of these items, though, as a whole host of new features have been brought into the game – such as Wraps.

You will be also able to zipline around Expedition Outposts and Iceberg, while shooting or using items at the same time. The same goes for Balloons too, which have been updated to allow aiming, shooting and the use of items.

The minimap has been modified, new points of interest have been added with Season 7 Fortnite and, of course, let’s not forget about that Fortnite X-4 Stormwing fighter jet – giving players plenty of new content to explore in this new update.
