Fortnitemares map changes – Storm King, Haunted Forest, more

Connor Bennett

The Fortnite Chapter 2 finally dropped what fans had been waiting a seriously long time for – a brand new map. The new setting has kept a few familiar spots like Pleasant Park, Retail Row, and Salty Springs, but it is pretty different overall.

Even though Epic Games had released a patch previous to v11.10 update, they hadn’t thrown in any map changes like previous seasons, most notably Season 10, where they threw in regular updates with the Rift Zones.

However, this patch has delivered the biggest map shakeup to-date in Chapter 2, with a number of locations being tweaked for Halloween.

Fortnitemares is back in Fortnite.

Fortnitemares Storm King location

One confirmed change that fans noticed almost right away, after downtime for the new update concluded, is that the island in the middle of the map has now turned purple.

This is where players will be tasked with fighting the Storm King, a mission that very much shapes the challenges and subsequent rewards that were set live shortly after the patch was rolled out.

New Halloween locations

Those who looked at the challenges first, before jumping off the Battle Bus, will have realized that another few map changes had been made.

Those quests task Fortnite players with searching chests in a Haunted Forest, a Ghost Town, and even a Spooky Farm. If you would like to find out exactly where to find them, check out out our easy location guide, and we’ve even included a few screenshots from the game below to show you just what to expect next time you play.

Haunted Forest

Haunted Forest is the latest spin on Weeping Woods. Things just look a little scarier inside the buildings.

Ghost Town

Ghost Town isn’t a named location on the Fortnite island and it might not even be a place you would have previously visited, but there’s plenty of loot to go around once you drop here.

Ghost Town has been added to Fortnite.

Now that we know some places have been given a revamp, what happens next is sure to spark another enjoyable holiday event from Epic, as they’ve gone all out with new cosmetics – including some spooky skins – and even added to the game’s current loot pool.

The final location, Spooky Farm, looks very much similar to Frenzy Farm but can be found where it is usually on the island. Simply drop off the Battle Bus and take a look yourself! There’s plenty of new things to see.

Just be sure to be careful when you’re heading out into the darkness of Fortnitemares, you never know what’s going to be lurking around the corner.
