How to craft Activated Balloons in LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite has introduced Activated Balloons as a brand-new Toy that lets you inflate and deflate Balloons using channel controls.

Epic released the 30.40 update for Fortnite on August 6. This has added plenty of content additions for both the main Battle Royale mode and LEGO Fortnite as the final patch for Chapter 5 Season 3.

Activated Balloons have been one of the biggest changes introduced to the block-building mode. These switch-controlled Balloons can be crafted in small and large variations and offer much more creativity and control when making your genius inventions.

How to unlock and craft Activated Balloons

Activated Balloons come in two types – Activated Balloon Small and Activated Balloon Large. They each function the same, but their Balloon sizes vary and each of them has slightly different Crafting recipes.

To unlock the recipes for both Activated Balloons in LEGO Fortnite, you must craft a Loom. You will only need to do this in a Survival world. In a Sandbox world, you don’t need to unlock any recipes.

When crafting an Activated Balloon Small at a Crafting Bench, you will need:

• One Silk Fabric
• One Torch
• One Cord

When crafting an Activated Balloon Large at a Crafting Bench, you will need:

• Two Silk Fabric
• One Torch
• One Cord

The Loom you have built to unlock them will be useful when making either of the Activated Balloons as it is needed to make Silk Fabric. One piece of Silk Fabric can be made at a Loom in exchange for five Silk Threads.

Cords can be crafted with five Vines at a Spinning Wheel and a Torch can be made using three pieces of Wood and five Vines at a Crafting Bench.

How to use Activated Balloons

To use Activated Balloons in LEGO Fortnite, you must use channel controls to be able to pair them with a switch to turn them on and off. You can use the classic Activation Switches, or the new Pressure Plates and Trigger Plates to achieve this.

Simply just place any number of Activated Balloons on a Dynamic Foundation and your switch of choice, then you will be able to control the Balloon’s inflation. Whether they are small or large, the Activated Balloon will instantly inflate when switched on and deflate when turned off.

You can do this any number of times, making it incredibly useful when creating air transport vehicles or for a whole heap of inventive uses in your builds. For example, you can even add a Driver’s Seat and use a Wrench to more specifically customize how you control each Activated Balloon.
