The V4.5 Content Update for Fortnite has been released and the highly anticipated new Drum Gun weapon has officially gone live!

Released on July 3rd, the V4.5 Content Update focuses more on the “Save The World” version of the game but that doesn’t mean that the Battle Royale mode has been ignored.

The addition of the Drum Gun has been something that players have been hoping for ever since it was originally leaked on June 27th and now it is finally here for all players to enjoy.

The description of the new weapon certainly seems in line with what people expected of it as the developers state “the Drum Gun is a hybrid weapon that combines the stopping power of a rifle with the suppressive ability and fire rate of an SMG.”

Many people believed that the Drum Gun was based off of the famous Thompson submachine gun from the prohibition era and the official description definitely seems to confirm those theories.

The Drum Gun will be available in Uncommon and Rare variants and do 26/27 base damage with a round capacity of 50, using medium ammo.
