Ninja Thinks Turbo Building Setting in Fortnite Battle Royale is Broken
Top Fortnite streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has seemingly acknowledged a major fault with the game’s building mechanics, specifically the setting “turbo building”.
One of the most central components to Fortnite is building, and being a skilled builder often separates the good players from the bad.
Because of how frequent building became and used as instant cover, developers Epic Games added a number of settings to improve the mechanics and allow for smoother builds.
The setting ‘turbo building’ was added back in February 2018, as well as other improvements such as ‘auto-material change’ and ‘building through stuff’.
Turbo building quickly became the default for many players across platforms, as it was no longer necessary to repeatedly press the build button, rather holding it down would continue the build.
“Turbo Building” allows you to hold down primary fire and continuously place the selected building piece (Toggled in the Game options). Now you can “paint” building pieces into the world quickly. This will be very useful for defensively building walls around you and sprinting up ramps while building them simultaneously.
However, at some point during recent updates to the game, some players have reported issues with turbo building, seemingly not placing the build when holding down the button/key.
And it seems even Ninja himself has now acknowledged the issue, in this clip taken from his live stream.
With constant updates to the game on a weekly basis, small glitches and issues are known to have cropped up previously so it is possible that an accidental change has been made to the turbo building setting.
The Fortnite development team are usually quick to resolve these issue, and with Ninja highlighting the problem on his platform Epic Games will no doubt be aware of players’ complaints.
