Reverse Gungame LTM could be coming soon to Fortnite, according to leaks
Newly found leaks in Fortnite Battle Royale point to a new Limited Time Mode coming soon that would feature the traditional format of Gungame but in reverse.
What is Gungame?
Gungame is a popular multiplayer game mode found in various shooters that features a lobby of players trying to eliminate each other in a free-for-all-style format.
All of the players starts out with the same lower-tier weapon loadout and and after each kill, the player advances to the next weapon loadout on the list.
The game ends when one player manages to get a kill with every single weapon loadout on the list, which is usually comprise of 18-20 weapons, both ballistic and melee.
What is Reverse Gungame and how would it work?
According to leaks uncovered by prominent data-miner @FortTory, there is a Reverse Gungame LTM coming soon to Fortnite that would flip the classic Gungame format on its head.
Instead of players starting off with the lower-tier weapons, they would start with the same powerful weapons and work themselves down, until one player gets through the entire list from best to worst and earns the Victory Royale.
Reverse Gungame LTM:
Description:

Would Reverse Gungame work in Fortnite?
While there hasn’t been much information revealed about the Reverse Gungame LTM other than what’s included above, fans are already eagerly hatching ideas for how the mode would work in Fortnite.
For one, since there appears to be a 20-player limit to each lobby with no squads, players are speculating that matches would take place either in a randomly selected area rather than the whole map, or that the Storm circle would be constantly shrinking and at a high rate.
Also, since in traditional Gungame, players can get demoted a weapon if they get killed via melee, a similar system could be in place in Reverse Gungame for players who get eliminated by a pickaxe attack.
When does the Reverse Gungame LTM release in Fortnite?
Unfortunately, the release date for the Reverse Gungame LTM has not yet been found in game files, so there’s no real way to know when it would go live in Fortnite.
In fact, considering that all of the information we know about it is from leaks and none of it has been officially announced, this LTM may end up never seeing the light of day.
