Fortnite fans who have visited Pleasant Park may have noticed a major change to the area, with some players suggesting that it could spell the end for one of the game’s most popular locations.

The first season of Fortnite’s second chapter is rapidly coming to a close, with the second season set to kick off in early February. With the new season, and likely a major update starting to creep closer, fans of Epic’s popular battle royale title are earnestly searching for any clues as to what may come next, and some believe that Pleasant Park isn’t long for this world after some players saw a different version of the location while playing the game.

The town, which has been part of Fortnite since the very beginning, was covered in snow over the festive period, but when the cold finally cleared and it all melted, Pleasant Park had a significantly different look compared to the other named locations in the game.

Pleasant Park may disappear if some rumors are to be believed.

Following the melting of the snow, some Fortnite fans spotted an odd change at Pleasant Park, with much of the location covered in dust or dirt. Large parts of the road that cuts through the town, alongside with areas of grass and the pavements were no longer visible, while only a couple of parking spots and road markings were visible through the covering.

This change first appeared on Friday, January 10, spotted by a Twitter user named LuTrex, with the picture going viral, receiving thousands of likes and hundreds of comments from people speculating about what it could mean.

At the time of writing, the dust only appears randomly for some players, with many reporting that they hadn’t seen it at all.

With hype about Season 2 already starting to build, many believe that this is a sign that Pleasant Park will disappear, although nothing has been confirmed by developers Epic Games. Some believe that it may just be a visual glitch, something that leaker HYPEX admits could be a possibility, but many have pointed out the timing of this situation starting, appearing soon after the removal of the snow, and towards the end of the new season.

Whether Pleasant Park will finally disappear from the map remains to be seen, but Fortnite fans will definitely be keeping an eye on the legendary location in the build-up to the new season.
