The Second Fortnite Battle Royale Season 5 Teaser Image Is Just as Mysterious as the First

Ross Deason

Epic Games has released a second teaser image for Season 5 of Fortnite Battle Royale and we have just as many questions about this one as we did with the first.

Captioned with “2 days until Season 5…”, the second image shows a similar color scheme but this time the image in the background is an ancient looking axe.

In this picture, the axe itself seems to be causing the crack on the screen, but it is hard to tell whether this is simply artistic license or yet another clue.

There was also a crack in front of the animal’s face in the first teaser image that was released and they both look virtually identical to the ones that have been appearing in the Fortnite sky ever since the rocket launch event on June 30th.

Some of the initial thoughts about the animal’s face in the first image was that it looked very similar to the kitsune masks that are made by the Japanese. A description of the kitsune from Japanese folklore that said they could “bend time and space” also seemed to fit in well with current events in Fortnite.

The second image could potentially also be hinting towards some form of mythology or historical setting as it looks to be of Norse design. Norse mythology involves gods like Thor, Odin, and Loki, and is usually associated with the vikings.
