Was Glider Redeploy really disabled in Fortnite with v6.30 update?

Following the v6.30 update, there has been some confusion among the Fortnite community as to the changes detailed on the controversial glider redeploy system.

On November 13, Epic Games announced that due to community feedback, glider redeploy would be disabled entirely from all default modes (Solos, Duos, Squads).

However, it would remain in ‘larger team modes’ (e.g. Soaring 50s, Disco Domination etc.), as well as Playground, to “allow ongoing experimentation with this feature”.

So, when the patch notes for v6.30 released and stated: “Glider Redeploy will now only activate the Glider. Skydiving will no longer be available when using Glider Redeploy” – players were somewhat confused.

This seemed to indicate that glider redpeploy hadn’t been disabled at all, but rather simply adjusted to no longer allow for Skydiving.

However, it appears that these adjustments are only being made for modes where glider redeploy is still active, such as playground and select LTM’s.

Changes to Glider Redeploy in v6.30 update.

Players who were not a fan of the glider redeploy system can play the default modes safe in the knowledge that no one will be gliding off their high builds as soon as you get them weak anymore.

In Limited Time Modes and Playground, the glider redeploy system is still in place, and that’s where you’ll see the changes detailed in the patch notes implemented

Players will be able to redeploy their glider at any time when jumping from a certain height, but the speed gained by Skydiving will no longer be possible.

With the new Food Fight LTM added, it’s likely that this adjusted redeploy system will be active there too.
