All Tomb Raider 1 Remastered Cog locations

Finding all the cogs in Tomb Raider 1 Remastered is required to pass the third level, Lost Valley. Here is how to find all the cogs and where to take them.

Tomb Raider 1 is a classic, coming from a period of gaming where puzzle solutions were sometimes a little difficult to understand. Those aspects are still present in the remastered version of the game, with some puzzles being quite tricky to understand.

In the game’s third level, Lost Valley, you will find a mechanism missing three vital cogs required to open up the next part of the level. These cogs are located around the level, and you must use your combat and acrobatic skills to find them.

All Tomb Raider 1 Remastered Cog locations

There are three cogs you need to locate in Lost Valley to activate the mechanism:

• One is located in an old ruin, underneath a body of water
• One is located on a high ledge across from a broken bridge
• One is located in a cave near the waterfall

To reach them, follow the water away from the mechanism and down the waterfall. From here, head into a small tunnel and climb up a steep ledge. Follow the cave system until you come into an outside area. 

There will be two velociraptors here, so be sure to kill them with Lara’s pistols. If you had already picked up the shotgun earlier, we recommend not wasting the ammo on these enemies.

Keep following the path until you come to another clearing underneath a broken wooden bridge. You’ll come face-to-face with a T-rex. Circle the T-rex while pumping it full of pistol shots. If you have the shotgun, you can use that here too.

Once the T-rex is dead, head to the back of the forest and kill two more velociraptors that descend from the ruins. Inside the ruins is the first cog, at the bottom of the water. Press the action button to pick it up.

Leave the ruins the way you came, and once outside climb a wall to your right. Head up to the broken bridge and leap across. The second cog is located up here.

Finally, jump down and drop into a cave near the waterfall. The final cog is located here, along with another velociraptor.

Take all three cogs back to the mechanism and interact with each missing space to add them. Then you’ll be able to pull the lever and continue with the level.
