Rise of the Ronin weapons list
Rise of the Ronin features a total of 8 weapons to choose from. You can find a full rundown of every weapon, including a brief description of what they do in the table below.
WEAPON | PURPOSE |
---|---|
Katana | The Katana is the samurai’s archetypal weapon. Delivering both fast slashes and plenty of combo opportunities, this deadly sword offers fantastic close-range kill potential. Aside from the usual slashing attacks, the Katana can deliver aerial combos and finishers. Three combat styles can also be switched between when using the Katana, with them all having different movesets. |
Bayonet | The Bayonet offers both ranged combat and close-range slashes/stabs. While it doesn’t have as much range as the musket, the Bayonet can weave in deadly slashes and gunfire shots to overwhelm the enemy. There’s even a charged move that allows you to charge forward, continually blasting all enemies that get in the way. |
Spear | The Spear offers both speed and range, enabling players to barrage foes with deadly stabs and AoE swings that hit all nearby enemies. This makes it particularly useful for taking down grouped units or if you simply wish to put more space between yourself and your opponents. There also seem to be a lot of aerial combos, so if you like darting above your enemies, then the Spear is likely to be a hit. Just like the katana, the Spear also comes with three different combat styles. |
Flamethrower | This steampunk-style Flamethrower engulfs enemies in flames, burning everything within its range. This weapon is particularly useful for burning through wooden shields and eliminating close-range opponents. |
Musket | The Musket offers long-range lethality and excellent precision. However, the single-shot nature and longer reload does mean you’ll want to land headshots or use them to poke enemies from afar for early damage. |
Bow | What the Bow lacks in damage, it more than makes up for with its deadly flaming arrows. This is particularly potent when you use them to blow up an explosive barrel. Just be aware of the arrow’s drop-off, so you’ll need to compensate for this when taking down enemies from afar. |
Pistol | The Pistol offers quick-firing shots that can be weaved in between close-range melee combos. Ideal for those who want to use firearms, but still want to focus on melee |
Grappling Hook | The Grapling Hook can be used as a fantastic traversal tool and to swing yourself toward enemies. You can even fling explosive barrels from afar, and deliver instant stealth kills from ledges. |
