CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to Google Stadia in addition to PS4, Xbox and PC, Google announced.

Prior to Gamescom’s opening ceremonies, Google showcased multiple games that will be coming to their streaming platform including Mortal Kombat 11, Farming Simulator 19, Grid, and Watchdogs: Legion.

In a separate video, Google posted a developer diary update detailing what players can expect in the highly-anticipated title.

When is Cyberpunk 2077 coming out on Stadia?

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be one of 2020’s hottest titles.

Google did not reveal a release date for the Stadia version of Cyberpunk 2077, but said it would be “coming soon” in 2020. The game is currently scheduled to be released on April 16, 2020 on other platforms.

What is Google Stadia?

Stadia is a stream-based gaming service, users will still have to purchase games to play them. However, players won’t need to download and install patches to play their games in 4K.

The Founder’s Edition for Stadia is currently available for pre-order.  It will come with a controller, three months of Stadia pro, and a Chromecast ultra. Additionally, Destiny 2 will come packaged with it  already added to player’s library

Stadia aims to provide users with an advanced gaming experience without needing to enhance their hardware.

Cyberpunk 2077 could be a breathtaking experience.

While some are excited for the new platform, others think it’s too early. Xbox’s Phil Spencer doesn’t think that streaming will replace traditional methods of gaming quite yet.

Speaking with Gamespot Spencer said, “It’s one of the directions the industry is headed… To me, it’s about what you as a gamer want to do, and I’m not trying to tell you that owning a box that plays video games is a bad thing or that somehow that’s not needed

I think that the cloud inevitability as part of gaming is absolutely true, but we have more compute devices around us than we’ve ever had, whether it’s your phone, a Surface Hub, or an Xbox. The world where compute devices are gone and it’s all coming from the cloud just isn’t the world that we live in today.”

The Google Stadia Founder’s Edition is scheduled to launch in November, 2019.
