Tales from the Yawning Portal’s biggest selling point is doubtlessly the Tomb of Horrors. It’s a classic and infamous player-killing dungeon. In the Tomb of Horrors, it’s not really a question of whether you’ll survive, just how long for. So roll up some disposable characters, throw yourself at the gauntlet with abandon, and have a great time dying horribly.

This isn’t a direct, one-to-one translation of the original tomb, but it’s very close. The spirit and structure of this adventure are alive and well, while making smart updates to ensure fun 5e play.

There are many other fantastic options in this book beyond just the Tomb though. Against the Giants and The Sunless Citadel are both classic adventures recreated excellently here. Dead in Thay is a more recent outing that shows off some of the best of 5e.
