Games expected to appear in the PlayStation State of Play 2024
After months of anticipation, Sony has finally announced the next PlayStation State of Play event which will take place on January 31, 2024, at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET / 10 pm GMT / 11 pm CET. Fans can watch the 40-minute live stream on YouTube, Twitch, or TikTok on the official PlayStation channels.
They also announced that it will feature 15+ games during the showcase including an extended look at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, both of which were revealed in last year’s State of Play event.
Furthermore, several reveals hint at a new Metro game called Metro Awakening, which is expected to be announced for PS VR 2 on the PlayStation 5.
In addition to those, XboxEra host Nick Baker wrote in a cryptic X post that a new Sonic Generations remaster is also expected to be announced at the showcase event, which is SEGA’s next big outing in the Sonic franchise. In the post itself, games like Judas and a new Silent Hill title were also mentioned, which is also expected to appear in the event.
Visionary Hideo Kojima posted the State of Play announcement on his Instagram page as well, further hinting at a new Death Stranding 2 trailer drop at the showcase where fans are finally hoping to get a release date for the much-awaited sequel to the hit game.
Alongside that, fans are also hoping to see a full trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to drop since its reveal at the 2023 showcase. The game is a remake of the 2004 classic, which is now being created once again by Konami for the next-gen PlayStation 5 console.
While there are a bunch of indie games as well that are expected to be announced, it’s only a matter of time before everything is unveiled at this year’s PlayStation State of Play event.
