Foamstars maps explained: Aqua Blast Adventures, Dream Cabinet & more

In a bit of a departure from the classic JRPGs the company is famous for, Foamstars is a co-op shooter that blends PvP and PvE. The game’s 2024 roadmap, including its Season Pass was recently announced.
While on the surface Foamstars might seem like a simple Splatoon-clone, the game features some innovative gameplay aspects. Especially around it’s map mechanics.
At the start of each game, the Foamstars arena is a flat surface. Although each map features a few landmarks — usually a large structure near the middle and some smaller terrain feature at the map’s periphery — they’re mostly a wide empty space. And with good reason.
Unlike ink in Splatoon, foam in Foamstars can completely change the layout of the map. As players shoot their bright bubbles at enemies, the foam acts in three dimensions. It a mechanic which allows for a lot of creativity and flexibility. Letting players create mounds of neon foam that can serve as connecting bridges, sniper spots or shields.
What maps are in Foamstars?
All the Foamstars maps boast their own vibrant, psychedelic vibes, with names like Fomeopatra’s Crazy Wheel, Radiant Rhythm Gardens, Funkadelic Town Funktion, Aqua Blast Adventures and Dream Cabinet.
Foamstars currently has nine maps available to play at launch. Each is map is set in different locations within the game’s fictional soapy super city — Bath Vegas. And Square Enix have already told players to expect more maps in the near future.
