Helldivers 2 players are lobbying for buffs to primaries so that they’re up to par compared to the game’s shotguns.

Helldivers 2‘s arrival was definitely one for the books. While the game smashed numerous records and received rave reviews, many struggled to play the game due to server capacity issues.

Luckily for the developers, the experience itself has been nearly flawless, as much of the gameplay has been fine-tuned to near perfection, making the core loop of shooting and freedom creation as smooth as can be.

That said, some players have felt otherwise on in-game balancing, with shouts for better primary balancing.

Helldivers 2 players want primary buffs to match Breaker shotgun

“Dear Devs, please buff the other primary weapons so I don’t feel like I’m losing out by not using the Breaker shotgun,” commented one Helldivers player.

They went on to describe how shotguns seemingly overshadow the other weapons in mid/close range due to damage, tighter spread, and its fully auto nature.

They ended the post with a call for other primaries to get damage buffs to match the Breaker shotgun.

Many commentators were quick to agree with the Breaker’s dominance. “I spent 80 medals on the JAR-5 Dominator. Explosive tipped killing machine… The Breaker puts it to shame,” one comment said. Others simply agreed it’s a remarkable choice at any range.

However, a few others actually lobbied for a weapon upgrade system, which this game is devoid of at the moment. “Add weapon upgrades instead. I wanna pour points into my guns to make them shoot better, one player replied. Other replies echoed this sentiment, with many believing a system will join in the future.

Aside from the Breaker, the Flamethrower has been another hot topic, with many feeling it’s a weak weapon. As the servers get stabilized for the game’s large community, updates and balancing patches may be a focal point.
