According to SteamCharts as of February 4, 2025, the average number of Battlefield 4 players is 1,450. This is just a slight increase from January’s average number of 1,350 players who logged in daily.

However, figures then dropped drastically with the average count dropping as low as 2,237 in November 2021, and it hasn’t regained the same level of traction since.
Playerbase compared to competitors
Battlefield 4’s numbers are relatively low compared to some of its core competitors in the space – which also include other Battlefield installments.
Battlefield 2042, V, and 1 all have higher average player counts on Steam as of February 2025. 2042 is currently averaging over 6,000 daily players, while 1 and V have got over 9,000 and 10,000 respectively.
Ultimately, this means Battelfield 4’s Steam numbers are simply paling in comparison to the other entries in the franchise in 2025.
