Valorant continues to maintain a strong player count regularly thanks to consistent updates, and meta changes that shake up where Agents fall.

Riot Games’ hero shooter that rivals Counter-Strike 2 and Overwatch 2 brings in more players every day and it’s continued to keep up that momentum since it launched in 2020.

While there’s no definitive answer to how many people are playing, as the developers have yet to share the true player count, we can estimate its popularity below, and how it fares against competitors.

Valorant player count

According to Tracker Network, Valorant has an estimated total of over 19.3 million active monthly players on PC as of February 4, 2025. This is an increase compared to January numbers of 18.8 million which means the shooting game is getting off to a great start in 2025.

According to Riot themselves, however, across all platforms, Valorant draws over 35 million monthly players.

You can find a visual breakdown of the game’s monthly active count throughout 2024 below:

While these numbers are estimates of PC players alone, with the data being taken from several players tracked by Tracker Network, these are seriously impressive digits for Valorant, especially since it’s now approaching its fifth anniversary.

Player count compared to competitors

While Valorant’s player count isn’t as high as competitors, particularly Marvel Rivals, it still holds its own against others. While we can’t get a complete view of how the player looks on every platform we can compare it to other shooters’ numbers on PC based on their Steam stats.

You can take a look at exactly how it fares against the likes of Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals in the table and graph below.

The future of Valorant

Based on the numbers from Donlan, Valorant shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Riot Games has proven its ability to produce and support its games reliably, with the tactical FPS shooter genre standing the test of time.

With the FPS now being available on console too, it’s seen another influx of players that will continue to grow in the future.

As the Valorant Esport grows, major influencers like shroud and tarik continue to support the FPS, there’s no reason that big esports and casual fans alike shouldn’t have it on their radar of top live service games in 2025. Especially as the game’s fifth anniversary rounds the corner, Riot no doubt has some big surprises up its sleeve.

We’ll keep updating this page as numbers change throughout the year, so stay tuned to see how your favorite tactical FPS stacks up against the competition!
