Nightingale’s whimsical spin on the survival game genre has plenty of charm. The game’s gimmick of card-carrying travel passes for portals to other worlds injects a lot of fun and flavor into exploration.
But the further players delve into the world, the more fearsome the dangers they face. Fortunately, Healing Salves are an item that can be accessed early to keep any health-bar related anxieties to a minimum.
On top of restoring health, Healing Salves can also help deal with status ailments like disease or broken legs. Players can craft Healing Salves themselves once they’ve accessed the Swamp Biome. Here’s everything to know to craft a Healing Salve.
How to Craft a Healing Salve
To craft a Healing Salve players will need access to a Campfire, Bone, Sticks, and Fibre.
After arriving in the Swamp Biome during the tutorial, players will be tasked with collecting both Bones and Leather from the creatures in the area. Saving some bones in addition to the amount required for the quest makes for easier crafting after.
Gathering Fibre is easy thanks to the vast array of plants which cover Nightingale’s landscape. Use E to interact with plants to collect Sticks and Fibre, both used in crafting Healing Salves.
Once enough materials have been collected, the next step is building a campfire. This can be done via the building menu, accessible by hitting the ‘B’ key.
Use the Sticks as fuel to finish setting up the Campfire and then access the pot above it to open up the crafting menu.
The Campfire will show players all the recipes they’ve unlocked so far. Healing Salves is one of the first three crafting recipes available.
Select Healing Salves, then enter the required ingredients manually, or use the autofill function.
