How to do a handstand climb in Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered
AspyrYou can add some flair to Lara Croft’s climbing skills during Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy by performing a handstand move during a climb. Here’s how to do it.
Lara Croft is one of the most acrobatic characters in the world of gaming. She clearly doesn’t skip a day at the gym, and her climbing skills are proof of this. Throughout the games you vault, duck, and shimmy across different locations.
In the original Tomb Raider games you were able to add an extra degree of finesse to Lara’s gymnastics by activating a handstand move mid-vault. There was no gameplay advantage to this, but it looked cool and helped develop Lara’s character.
This move returns in the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, but how exactly do you trigger a handstand? Here’s everything you need to know.
How to do a handstand in Tomb Raider Remastered
To do a handstand while climbing in Tomb Raider Remastered, you need to grab onto a ledge and press the walk button at the same time as you push up.
Approach a high ledge, preferably one you need to jump to. Jump up and hold the climb button (with the Modern controls setting, it’s RT/R2 on a controller).
As Lara dangles there, hold down the walk button (X/Square on a controller with the Modern controls) and then press up to start climbing.
When Lara begins to pull herself up, she’ll do a handstand to complete the animation before you can resume control. Fun!
This move makes no changes to your gameplay, though it does mean the animation plays for around an extra second. So if you’re in a situation where time is of the essence, it’s best to avoid triggering this animation.
