Like other Persona titles, Persona 3 Reload has different endings depending on the player’s choices. Here’s how to get the best, or true, ending.

Persona 3 Reload revitalizes the story of S.E.E.S., a group of Persona users tasked with taking down Shadows and exploring Tarturus, a mysterious place that only appears in a secret hour between one day and the next.

Like in other Persona games, how the story plays out depends on your choices, with two drastically different endings available, both of which are quite bittersweet.

Whether you’re making sure you’re on the right path or really want things to go wrong, here’s how to get Persona 3 Reload’s good ending, without getting into spoilers.

Fortunately, getting the best possible outcome in Persona 3 Reload is pretty easy, as it comes down to just one major choice.

Without getting into story details, on December 31, you will be asked to make a key decision regarding one character’s fate.

To get Persona 3 Reload’s good ending, you need to let the character in question live. Killing him will immediately trigger the bad ending, which consists of some cutscenes before the credits roll.

For those familiar with Persona 4 and Persona 5‘s endings, this is much simpler. Those games have more possible endings and variations that hinge on less obvious choices, such as completing Social Links or giving specific answers at the right time.

As for what to expect next, sparing the character let you play through the month of January. This means more time to max out Social Links, including one that is only available that month. It all culminates in one last dungeon crawl and an epic final boss battle against Persona 3’s true antagonist.
