Like most ARPGs, Last Epoch has a lot of loot for players to wade through — especially at high levels. Luckily, Loot Filters make sorting through all those drops simple. Here’s how to set up and use Loot Filters in Last Epoch.

Last Epoch fans have had plenty of favorable things to say about the game, even with its rocky launch. The ARPG boasts a huge selection of classes to choose from, and a bunch of options for endgame play too.

One of the innovative features the devs at Eleventh Hour Games have packed into Last Epoch is Loot Filters. As the name implies, Loot Filters let players set up rules to remove certain items from their inventory UI. Allowing the ability to ignore drops that aren’t worth their time.

Even handier, Last Epoch allows players to export and import Loot Filters, make it easy for people to share around filters tailored for certain builds or levels. Here’s everything you need to know to use Loot Filters in Last Epoch.

How to use Loot Filters in Last Epoch

Loot Filters are accessed through the main menu, under the gameplay tab. Players can also use the default shortcut key of Shift+F if they haven’t rebound it.

The Loot Filters drop-down menu shows all the Filters available for use. Clicking the plus sign to the right of it gives players three options for importing and creating their own filters: Create a Filter, Open Filter Folder and Paste Clipboard.

How to import Loot Filters in Last Epoch

Opening the Filter Folder allows players to import their Loot Filter in the form of an XML file. While Paste Clipboard allows players to copy and paste filter text from a Pastebin.

One quick way for players to create Loot Filters for themselves to import is by using the Last Epoch build planner. This allows players to generate a line for Loot Filters based on the build they’re planning on using.

For those who want to drill down into the nitty-gritty, however, there’s also the ability to write custom rules.

Selecting the Create New Filter option will let players create their own custom filter with tailored rules. Once a name and icon have been selected, players will be able to add rules to their filter by clicking the Add Rule button.

This brings up the rule screen, where conditions can be added from a drop-down menu, and players can toggle visibility or recolor for different items.

Rules can also easily be sorted by whatever priority order players want just by dragging and dropping with the window. It’s important to note, rules placed higher on the list override rules placed below them.

There are a few different sorting options available, from filtering loot by level and class requirements, to rarity and item types.

Here’s every Loot Filter options in Last Epoch, and a brief explanation of how they work.

Affix

The Affix option allows players to filter loot by modifiers present on equipment. For example, a player could choose to create a filter to highlight all items that drop with a defense buff, or which inflict a type of status effect as additional damage. Players can filter as many affixes as they like from the game’s 700+ available modifiers.

Players can filter items by multiple affixes, and can even use the advanced filtering options to specify which tier of item the affixes should be attached to.

Class Requirement

One of the simplest Loot Filters to create, this option adds a clause to filter items by the selected class: Primalist, Mage, Sentinel, Acolyte or Rogue. It’s all possible for players to filter loot by more than one class at a time.

Level

Another simple filter, Level allows players to filter the loot displayed by level ranges.  Level loot filters can be sorted according to items below or above a specified level, as well as a specified maximum level below the character’s current level. Finally, and most importantly, players can filter items by their Highest Usable Level.

Rarity

The Rarity options let players filter drops by how rare the item is, with rules for Normal, Magic, Rare, Exalted, Unique, and Set items. As with other options, players can have multiple rarity options active.

Item Type

Finally, Last Epoch lets players filter loot by the Item Type. For example, applying a filter to display only one-handed weapons, or only armor drops. There’s also the ability to further filter via item subtype. Making it easy to sort through drops show one-handed swords only, or to only show leather armors.

How to export Loot Filters in Last Epoch

Players can export any filters they create and share them online.

Just select the Export Filter button from the bottom of the Loot Filter interface. Next, access the folder where filters are stored on their PC by clicking the Open Custom Filter Location button. Search the filter folder for the right one, and then select the copy raw contents option to copy paste the data as text, or export it as an XML using the button at the bottom of the interface.
