Enshrouded open world explained
In short, the answer to the question is a resounding yes. Not only that but the world that Keen Games has created here is remarkably large and varied.
The story behind the game world is an interesting one as well. Known as Embervale, this vast realm has entered difficult times, after a mysterious fog-like force known as the Shroud brought with it all kinds of mayhem and monsters, mutating normal creatures along the way.
Despite that, large parts of the map are remarkably peaceful, offering a stark and enjoyable contrast to the game’s combat sections. Wherever the Shroud has made its presence known, however, it becomes an entirely different prospect. Entering it begins to drains the player’s life force and opens them up to immense danger from the denizens within. The surface world is impressive enough but there are plenty of caves, caverns and underground areas to explore as well.
With each game supporting up to 16 players, it can be a slightly less daunting prospect to explore with a group. Alone, it can be a difficult and foreboding place.
