Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the next entry in the beloved Granblue Fantasy franchise but is it a gacha game? We’ve got the answer for you right here.

The latest installment in the Granblue Fantasy series is Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and it brings the world and characters from the beloved mobile and web browser title to life in a full-blown action RPG experience. With quests taken on either solo or with friends in co-op, a compelling story to discover, and plenty of endgame content that’s a lot to get stuck into in the game.

Fans of the franchise and newcomers alike may want to know if Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a gacha game before diving in however, so we’ve got all the information you need right here.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is an action-packed RPG.

No, unlike the original game, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is not a gacha title.

Every character in Relink can be unlocked through in-game progression by playing through the main story and completing quests. With a fairly sizeable roster at launch, it’s understandable that some may have been worried about certain fighters being locked behind microtransactions but thankfully no gacha elements are featured in the game.

More characters could be made available in future DLC expansions (especially considering how many there are in the original Granblue Fantasy) but given that Relink is a full-price release, it seems highly unlikely that a gacha system will be implemented down the line.
