Stellar Blade is the latest action-adventure game that has Nier Automata and Bayonetta fans excited. The game is developed by the creators behind Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and aims to deliver scintillating action sequences and stunning visuals.
While many fans have already pre-ordered the Stellar Blade Digital Deluxe Edition to claim Eve’s added cosmetic bonuses, many will be wondering if the game is open world. After all, the gameplay preview has left a lot of unanswered questions.
Fortunately, we have rounded up all the information you need, so here’s everything you need to know about whether Stellar Blade is open world.
Is Stellar Blade open world?
No, Stellar Blade is not an open world game. Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Hyung Tae Kim, Director of Stellar Blade noted that it is a “semi-open world” game. When discussing the environments of Stellar Blade, Kim said the following:
“Xion is connected to a semi-open world region called the Wasteland and the Great Desert, which harbor many secrets. You get to cross paths with many different people and go on adventures in these vast fields to fulfill Eve’s goals while also helping the citizens of Xion.”
Judging from the gameplay preview footage, Stellar Blade’s environments look fairly expansive and range from vast ancient deserts to urban streets filled with robotic enemies. While information surrounding each location has remained scarce, we do know that players will be able to find various cosmetics that can be used to customize Eve.
Exploration will be a big part of the game, particularly for those who wish to unlock every Stellar Blade outfit. Be sure to check out our other Stellar Blade guides below to prepare yourself for the sci-fi adventure.
