NVIDIA reveals limited-edition Cyberpunk 2077 GPU

GPU manufacturer NVIDIA revealed a special collaboration with Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of its launch in September.

Cyberpunk may have been delayed from April, but that doesn’t mean the hype has to die down. In fact, one could argue that it has even ramped up as fans wait patiently for CD Projekt RED’s first major release since The Witcher 3.

The game will be available across all the current-gen consoles, with the exception of the Nintendo Switch for now, but many players will be picking up Cyberpunk on PC so they can tinker with all of the graphical options available and get the best version of the game possible.

Are NVIDIA and Cyberpunk teaming up?

Perhaps as a way to capitalize on this, NVIDIA teased a potential special edition GPU with Cyberpunk in a back-and-forth with the upcoming title on Twitter.

“Hey @NvidiaGeforce, what do you think about making a limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 GPU,” asked Cyberpunk’s official Twitter page. NVIDIA told fans to stay tuned and posted a blurry image of what could potentially be the graphics card in question.

New GPUs created just for the launch of a game don’t happen very often, so this is something worth keeping an eye on. This new GPU skin is a redesign of the RTX 2080 Ti, but it won’t be available for purchase.

Instead, NVIDIA will be hosting a giveaway where fans have a chance to get their hands on the GPU, free of charge. The full list of contest rules can be read here.

If you’re in the market for an upgrade before the highly anticipated title launches, this might be one worth keeping an eye on.

We’re sure the 2080 Ti will be more than capable of showing off the beautiful graphics seen in the world of Cyberpunk. The official release date is now set as September 17, and barring any more last-second delays, this will be the date players will be able to mark down on their calendars.
