One consumable is essential for fighting Guangmou in Black Myth: Wukong
DexertoOne of the first Chapter’s toughest enemies in Black Myth: Wukong is Guangmou, and you’ll find the fight difficult without one particular potion.
This Chinese-published action RPG puts you up against some incredibly dangerous foes, and early on you’ll have to beat Guangmou in the Bamboo Grove. This Yaoguai Chief will summon snakes and throw energy blasts at you relentlessly.
He isn’t the only arduous boss fight during Chapter One, as players have also found the Wandering Wight to be utterly frustrating. While you can bypass this boss to get to the next area, Guangmou is someone you must beat to continue the story.
If you’re having trouble getting past the Yaoguai Chief boss in Black Myth: Wukong, you can get this one consumable to make the fight a bit easier.
How to defeat Guangmou
The best consumable to use during the Guangmou fight is Antimiasma Powder, which is a type of medicine you can consume to remove the Poisoned State and increase your Poison Resistance. You can purchase this consumable from the Shrine Shop.
This boss’s spectral snake summons that show up halfway through the fight are not to be toiled with, as they will all simultaneously throw poison blasts at you. It drains your health in an instant, and you’ll fail the fight.
Instead, as soon as you get hit with even one blast, consume Antimiasma Powder. Even better, you should use one of these medicines before the fight starts to build up that resistance. Then you can consume another to remove the Poisoned State if it comes to pass.
When these spectral snakes appear, your best move is to remove them altogether. Brute forcing it won’t work, as their poison blasts are tough to dodge. They’ll fall with one hit, so take your focus off of Guangmou just until all the snakes perish, or Guangmou makes them disappear.
Otherwise, on his own, this boss isn’t too difficult to contend with. He’ll occasionally summon gusts of wind, but you have plenty of time to get out of the radius, allowing you to lay some hits on him.
Guangmou can also disappear and reappear throughout the fighting arena, getting close enough to spray poison in your face. Again, this is very easy to dodge and this shouldn’t give you trouble.
One last thing to note is Guangmou’s spectral blasts of whiteish-blue energy. These motes will appear and hone in on you. They’re more dangerous than you think, so wait for them to get close before dodging to the left or right.
After you finally take this boss down, you’ll be rewarded with the Guangmou Spirit which will allow you to summon those snakes to help you during a fight. You’ll also get Blood of the Iron Bull which can be used to upgrade Spirits.
Now that you’ve bested Guangmou in Black Myth: Wukong, you should check out your skill tree to see if you should change anything or add new skills. Better yet, you can learn about the variety of combat Stances.
