Palworld players left baffled after discovering game’s morbid secret
PocketpairPalworld may have only been out for a few weeks, but people have already claimed to see some unthinkable things.
Palworld shoves a bunch of adorable creatures at you. Just as soon as you set foot on the island, you’re greeted with an abundance of fluffy Lamballs, mischievous Tanzees, and other Pals you can capture to aid you at your base. However, don’t let that facade trick you.
After all, the game’s trailer did show Pals working in a factory-like setting, suggesting a darker theme to the gameplay. On top of overworking these creatures and capturing humans to sell at the market, apparently the game takes things one step further when it comes to the dark side of Pals.
A player on Reddit has claimed that they witnessed the gruesome sight of a Pal eating a human. They explained, “I actively saw a Pal not only kill a syndicate thug but then eat the body after. It made swinging head motions, and then the body disappeared, and it walked away.”
Assuring they’re not alone, the user also asked, “You guys have seen it too, right?” And based on the replies, it’s clear that this isn’t something that the user just imagined.
“I’ve watched Direhowls eat syndicate members and Pals,” one player said. On the other hand, another player claimed that the Relaxaurus Pal won’t hesitate to eat anything that dies nearby, even if that’s another Relaxaurus. This seems to align with their Paldeck entry being “remarkably ferocious.”
Others claimed that they’ve caught Cognito and Anubis showing this behavior as well. “A guardian got to survive too, ya know?” one user chimed in.
Meanwhile, in a different thread, one person managed to get this disturbing Pal behavior recorded. This clip, of course, shocked players who had not yet seen it happen in their game.
But others weren’t too surprised. One user explained that this was hinted in the opening cutscene, claiming it showed the player “almost becoming a meal” and that people washing up on the shore were eaten by Pals, just like an NPC told.
