Just when it seemed like Palworld couldn’t get any bigger, the game has broken yet another record. Beating Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, and Hogwarts Legacy to become Steam’s 7th highest concurrently played game of all time.

Palworld has captivated players worldwide with its adorable “Pals” and lethal spin on gameplay. Over the last few days, social media has been saturated with clips and comments as fans share their thoughts, hilarious game glitches, and more.

Sales of the game have been skyrocketing too, with two million copies sold. The game’s been so unexpectedly popular it even required an emergency meeting with Epic to deal with the surge of players.

Now, Palworld developers, Pocketpair, can add yet another accolade to their list of impressive achievements this weekend.

According to YouTuber Benji Sales, Palworld’s concurrent players have now overtaken records set by Baldur’s Gate 3, 2023’s Game of the Year. It’s also left Hogwarts Legacy and Elden Ring behind now too.

After crossing the 900,000 concurrent players threshold, Palworld is sitting in the 7th spot on Steam’s most concurrently played games of all time. No mean feat for a game that’s only been available in early access since January 19.

As industry veteran, Mat Piscatella, amusingly pointed out, if it continues its “current player count growth rate” Palworld  “will have been played by every human on Earth at hour 267 of distribution.”

Although it isn’t likely every person on Earth is going to play Palworld by the end of this weekend, or at all, there’s no arguing the game is attracting a staggering number of players.

The game’s meteoric rise has already broken numerous records, including selling over a million copies in its first eight hours of release.
