When Paralives, a life simulation game that features open-world and in-depth character creation, was first announced in 2019, the Sims community was thrilled. After all, there’s no denying that EA has been known to be “milking” players with constant DLCs and packs.

So, when a new life simulation game showed up, players were happy that there’s finally some potential competition going on.

Paralives release date

Early access for Paralives is set to release next year in 2025, as shown in the game’s latest overview video and devs’ Q&A page. The exact date for the game’s launch is currently unknown, but according to devs, it will be announced later as we near the early access launch. 

Paralives gameplay and features

Paralives feature an open-world life sim where players can exist as “Parafolk.” These are characters in the game that can be customized in terms of personality, appearance, and so much more. 

The latest gameplay overview shows that players have options to shape their Para through Vibe, Social Perk, Talent, and Lifestyle options, which affect how they interact with others in their surroundings. And depending on the player’s choice, they can develop a “secret crush” too!

Jobs are also present in the game, given that Parafolk need to pay their bills. At the end of the work day, players can spend upgrade points to let their Para gain access to more advanced skills, allowing them to perform better and rise above the ranks.

Players may be offered jobs by other Parafolk depending on their relationship. This seems to be influenced by the game’s “Together Cards” social system that tailors the way Para interacts with their peers according to their personality.

Aside from that, there’s also the building aspect of the game, with the options to create curved walls, split levels, stacking objects, and many other features.

What platforms will Paralives be available on?

Paralives will be released on Steam for both PC and Mac. As for console players, unfortunately, devs have mentioned that console versions are not planned at the moment. The same goes for mobile devices as well. Though that could always change in future if the game is wildly successful.

Will Paralives have DLCs?

Regarding extra content, devs have confirmed that there will be no paid DLC in Paralives. Updates in the game will be free. In the future, players can also expect more features to be added, such as seasons, basements, swimming pools, bikes, pets, and weather.
