Project Mugen is the latest free to play gacha game that has anime fans hyped, but will the upcoming title have multiplayer?

Project Mugen aims to wow fans with its unique characters and urban-themed open world when it releases. While Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail currently remain at the top of the gacha game popularity rankings, Naked Rain Studio hopes to find similar success.

Of course, time will only tell whether the free to play game can carve out its own mark amongst these two giants. However, one thing players will be wondering is whether or not Project Mugen will feature multiplayer or co-op functionality. After all, being able to play your favorite games with friends can enhance your experience.

With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about multiplayer in Project Mugen.

Will Project Mugen have multiplayer?

As of writing, Naked Rain Studio has yet to reveal any news on whether Project Mugen will include multiplayer. However, other gacha games like Genshin Impact and Honkia Impact 3rd all feature multiplayer.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Project Mugen will follow suit. After all, not every gacha game focuses on multiplayer, with Honkai Star Rail famously not having any real form of co-op functionality.

It’s also important to note, that Project Mugen is still in development and has only just started accepting pre-registerations. However, with the game coming out on PS5, PS4, PC, iOS, and Android – many players will be hoping for crossplay and multiplayer.

As always, we’ll be sure to update this piece as soon as we hear more information. In the meantime, check out our Project Mugen release hub and articles below for all the latest news and updates.
