Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League ending might be fake in new theory

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has enraged fans for taking the name a bit too literally. However, a new theory arises to combat the title of the game.

Rocksteady Studios’ latest title has caused quite a conundrum on the Internet for many reasons. Leaked story details, NDA Alpha discussion, live service features — you name it, and it’s probably been a hot topic or caused a stir.

The fan ire has only increased come the game’s release since the Suicide Squad actually kills the Justice League after the latter becomes pawns in Brainiac’s schemes. This led to all sorts of discussions, mostly on how the title feels like a disservice to the Arkham series.

That said, fan theories have run rampant that Justice League killed in-game aren’t the real guardians of this galaxy, pointing towards a positive outcome for the narrative.

Fan theory “proves” the real Justice League isn’t dead

As the name implies and as mentioned, the Suicide Squad battles against members of the Justice League and succeeds in killing them in-game.

According to YouTube creator Yanni’s Nerdverse, these battles may be “false victories.” They state the League players face off against aren’t themselves but possibly genetic copies made by Brainiac. Several moments lend some credence to this theory — Boomerang chopping off Flash’s finger for it to come back, Luthor 2’s assumption on why Superman doesn’t die, and Green Lantern’s ring post his defeat.

Yanni believes unused voice lines in the game files and the game’s live service structure adhere to their beliefs. Each season, the squad will travel deeper into Brainiac’s ship to free the real Justice League, while facing advanced versions of the cloned League members.

If anywhere remotely true, Yanni believes the final season would see the Suicide Squad and the Justice League team up to defeat Brainiac.

As the game just released, players are a long way from seeing how the full story unfolds. With Season 1 starting in March, only time will tell if this theory ends up being Suicide Squad’s best kept secret.
