The Batman fight scene turned into an Arkham game is a must-watch
Warner Bros.A fan has turned a fight scene from The Batman into an Arkham game-style edit, and it’s a must-watch. Here’s what it looks like.
With its comic book sequences and traditional detective spin on Gotham’s Dark Knight, The Batman has been praised by fans as one of the most famous DC universe comic book flicks.
Based on Batman: Year One comics, the 2022 film adaptation by Matt Reeves received widespread praise upon its debut, with some even going so far as to say it was the second-best Batman film of all time, after Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
But in the gaming sector, comparable praise has been bestowed upon Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham trilogy games, which established a standard for open-world superhero games and served as an inspiration for Insomniac’s Spider-Man. The best of both worlds have been brought together by one Batman fan who has edited the Iceberg Lounge scene from The Batman in a unique way.
Several key presses and visual effects give the impression of genuine gameplay as if they had managed to include components from the Arkham games. Here’s a look at the video edit and the reactions from fans of the two properties.
Fan turns The Batman fight scene into an Arkham gameplay in a viral edit
An X user named GothamChief turned the iconic Iceberg Lounge fight scene from The Batman into an Arkham gameplay by adding elements such as the location, XP bar, Health Bar, Combo bar, and key presses at crucial combat moments on the screen. They also included the HUD elements around enemies’ heads right before they attacked.
Furthermore, as the fight continues, viewers see Batman’s health bar go low due to a gunshot and icons grapple and pull an enemy closer to them. The scene ends with a menu screen where the user clicks on Restart. The sequence itself is so incredibly shot it resembles an actual gameplay cinematic from the Arkham trilogy games.
Upon looking at the clip, several fans of The Batman turned in their comments to praise the editor’s work. One such fan said, “This is so peak.” Another chimed in, “If film tie-in games were still a thing, this would’ve been a mean game.”
A third user added, “Fabulous edit! And when Penguin asks: Looking for me?, I cannot stop imagining Batman “visiting” him again and disrupting his plans. Don’t know, it just feels right!” A fourth one commented, “This is so awesome because this and many other scenes did feel straight out of the Arkham games.”
