A Tomb Raider remaster has been announced for the first three games of the series, and fans love the new style brought to Lara Croft.

Tomb Raider is one of the most beloved franchises of the 90s for its complex puzzles and, of course, its main protagonist Lara Croft. The game’s original trilogy has finally been remastered after debuting in 2011.

Fans of the franchise have given the remaster glowing reviews as it has a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam just one day after its release. The remaster has also made it into Steam’s top 15 for current sales on the platform.

The Tomb Raider trilogy can be played on all gaming platforms, including some older-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is only available as a digital edition and can be picked up for $29.99.

Remastered Lara Croft is “so pretty”

Outside of the game’s original gameplay and storyline, players are praising the developers for the look of the remaster. While the previous titles may have been more pixelated, Aspyr ensured that the game stuck to its roots while looking well-rounded overall.

Many took their thoughts to social media to showcase their approval of the updated design.

“So pretty,” said one user. “Her design is so perfect. There’s a slight LAUness to her that I love and really reminds me of how great that Lara was too.”

The original poster of the comparison image also shared that the game features a photo mode. This will allow players to snap pictures of moments they want to remember within the game or to get pictures of Lara in all her glory.

“I love the newly remastered game so far,” said another. “Really wish there was a physical copy release.”

Players have expressed satisfaction with the remastered edition, praising its ability to preserve the essence of the original game while seamlessly integrating it into the modern era. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for those who were not present during the game’s initial release to experience a sense of gaming nostalgia.
