What is Longevity in UFC 5?
EA SportsHere’s an overview of how Longevity works in UFC 5 and whether players can do anything about this feature that can prematurely end a Career Mode run.
UFC 5 Career Mode does have some similarities to its predecessor released back in 2020. One of those aspects is the concept of Longevity.
Longevity is not necessarily an attribute that can be boosted with Evolution points or modified but rather is a reflection of the time a fighter can compete in the world of mixed martial arts.
Here’s a look at what Longevity is in UFC 5 Career Mode and how it works.
Longevity in UFC 5
Simply put, Longevity is a measure of how long a fighter can go on in Career Mode. In the real world of UFC, each fighter can only fight for so long before injuries & age catch up and erode the ability to compete in the Octagon.
That concept is something that UFC 5 Career Mode players must keep in the back of their minds.
Each fighter will start at perfect Longevity, but it will go down after each and every fight. This will be reflected in the post-fight summary screen that shows up.
In some cases, Longevity won’t go down that much, sometimes less than half a percentage point. But in other instances, a fighter could lose one to two percent or more after a fight.
This really all depends on how much damage a fighter takes during a match. After all, a more punishing fight in theory will wear down a fighter’s abilities in the Octagon over time.
Take a lot and it will go down more. Take less and the amount of Longevity that’s lost won’t be as high.
Thus, make sure to minimize risk, especially when one has a significant amount of fights under the proverbial belt.
