Where to find Awaken Wine Worms in Black Myth: Wukong to upgrade your Gourd

Your Gourd is your number one source for healing yourself in Black Myth: Wukong, but finding the Awaken Wine Worms to upgrade it can be a hassle.

While Luojia Fragrant Vines improve your Gourd uses, Awaken Wine Worms aid your health recovery upon each use. You can upgrade it seven times, yet finding these items may be trickier than you may think.

You’ll get the chance to upgrade your Gourd once you meet Shen Monkey in the Bamboo Grove, which is not too long after facing off against Guangmou. To make these upgrades easier, here are all the Awaken Wine Worm locations in Black Myth: Wukong.

Dexerto

Notably, Awaken Wine Worms typically appear in large, glowing jars. Breaking these will grant you the worms, but you have to know where to find the jars in the first place. Here are all the locations we’ve discovered, so far:

Chapter One

Black Wind Cave

After defeating the Black Wind King boss, you’ll find this worm around the same area you fought in. Look to the left side and you’ll see the glowing vase you seek.

Chapter Two

Yellow Wind Ridge

From the Valley of Despair Shrine in Sandgate Village, head to the right and walk inside the cave ahead. Keep running through along the right side until you see the glowing pot hiding behind a shoddy wall. You can get there by hopping off the ledge ahead, and then heading through the right path.

Chapter Three

Marsh of the White Mist

This one is easy to get, as you can buy it from Shen Monkey if you visit him at his cave in the Marsh of the White Mist. Just make sure you’ve reached Chapter Three first.

Outside the Wheel

From this Shrine, turn right and head to the wooden chest at the end of the cliffs. Drop down a floor to the left, push through a few enemies, and at the end of this cliff will be the glowing jar.

Longevity Road

Walk through the gate near this Shrine, and once you find the fork in the road, take the left path heading downhill. You’ll have to battle a tough enemy here, but once it’s defeated you can break the glowing vase nearby.

Chapter Four

Marsh of the White Mist

Once you start Chapter Four, you can travel back to Shen Monkey for the second time for another Awaken Wine Worm available to purchase.

The Estate of Zhu

Upon arriving at a little town named the Estate of Zhu, you’ll find this worm jar hiding inside of a shack beside the arena where you fight the Second Sister.

Temple of the Yellow Flower

From the entrance of the temple, walk up the stairs and face off against the Snake Shriff Spirit. After that, head through the door it was previously guarding and you can spot the pot sitting below a large tree.

Chapter Five

Marsh of the White Mist

Go back a third time to Shen Monkey and you can buy another Awaken Wine Worm from him once you reach Chapter Five.

Rakshasa Palace

From the Rakshasa Palace Shrine, head up the stairs and over a bridge where you eventually find two large enemies with shields. If you turn left, you will find the Old Man NPC standing beside the glowing worm jar.
