Given that Skull and Bones is a full-price game costing $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on consoles, this has understandably caused some controversy, with players expressing frustration that the game is being treated as a live-service title with a pretty steep barrier of entry.
Ubisoft has responded to the criticism, with CEO Yves Guillemot defending the pricing during an investors call by calling Skull and Bones a “quadruple-A game” and saying both that it’s “a fully-fledged game” and “will deliver in the long run.”
